The printing method you choose is a big factor in the quality of your shirt. You want to make sure that your t-shirts are printed using one of the three most common methods: silk screen, direct to garment and heat press. Read on for more information about each option and why it matters. Silk Screening Silk screening is a method of print that uses a mesh to apply ink to the shirt. A screen is stretched over a frame and placed in a frame press, which then dips the screen into an ink bath. The ink soaks through the mesh onto the print t shirt, creating an image on it. The mesh can be made from silk or polyester, but either way it creates more of an impression than direct-to-garment printing because it leaves behind more texture (and therefore more durability). Silk screening is great if you’re looking for something that’s going to last longer than DTG prints. Heat Press Heat press is the fastest and most efficient way to produce large quantities of apparel.
